Mac uses .DMG files to extract programs from, you can drag the application inside right into your application folder.
But what if you want to save your .DMG to use it again in the future? Well we can use our Disk Utility to burn our image onto a CD or DVD.
Pick your .DMG file
To burn your .DMG image onto a CD / DVD you need to right-click it and select open with and choose Disk Utility.
In this tutorial i am going to burn a copy of FireFox 3.0.
Disk Utility will open a new window.
Select .DMG image for burn
Now in the Disk Utility select the image that will be located in the left sidebar
Start burning of the .DMG
To start the burning of the .DMG image, click the Burn button in the top menu.
Insert CD/DVD
Next insert a blank CD or DVD to start the burning proccess.

In just a few minutes your image will be burned onto your CD or DVD!
