The famous Mac dashboard has some great default widgets, but there are so much more! So in this tutorial i will show you where to get new widgets, how to install them and configuring them. These widgets are extremely handy and reduce time to do something, for example you can listen to the radio instantly.
Choosing a widget
When you reach the Apple website you will notice the Widget Browser, this is where you can pick a category and choose your widget.
Downloading a widget
When you selected a Category and a Widget, the info of that widget will show, includig a download link.
Click the download button in order to save the widget to your Mac.
Opening widget ZIP file
You can open the zip file using the Stuffit Expander, just hit OK and the file will be downloaded and extracted.
Opening widget install file
Now go to the directory where the file has been extracted. Now double click the Widget File
Installing the widget
When you clicked the widget file, a new window will popup asking you if you would like to install the widget.
Just press Install and the widget will be installed.
Keeping the widget
When you pressed the install button you can choose to display it on your dashboard, hit the Keep button and your done! You got a new widget!
